Sleepless in Sydney

It's been a whirlwind of a trip and I'm already back home. Since we've returned I've been sleeping quite late (due to the time difference) and have been waking up a couple of times in the middle of the night. Hopefully I can get some good sleep soon because the lack of proper rest makes me a bit cranky. I slept so well in HK too! Boo hoo... I miss Hong Kong but I'm sure I'll be back soon enough. In the meantime, I can look back on all the happy memories and smile to myself...

I can walk! With the help of Daddy, of course. Here I am practicing my little steps.

Here I am at yumcha again, checking out the next dish I'd like to taste test.

Even though he is a naughty boy, Tyler is actually quite sweet. He even put his arm around me!

Trying to play peek-a-boo with an uninterested Ryan. He always loves the camera more than people!

It's really hard to get a group photo... as you can tell.

Hmm... still not so good...

Oh gosh, even worse! I'm trying to share the last of my biscuit with Mommy here.

Tyler and Talia are a great brother and sister duo. She still loves to copy him and follow him around all the time.

Tyler and his Ultraman poses...

Take that!

Yep, he's got a lot of them!

One last one before...

it's finally time for a rest.

And they're back on their feet again!

He's really nonstop with these moves!

Again...

Again...

And again!

Whenever anyone lifts their legs or feet in the air, I find it absolutely hilarious. When Mah-Mah does it, I can't stop laughing.

Extreme close-up!

Giving Daddy a big hug before he leaves for New York!

Giving Gong-Gong a big hug before he leaves for Korea!

Music always makes me want to groove.

Here is one of the first few times that I learned to stand up all on my own, without holding onto anything or anyone. I'm so proud of myself that I wave my arms around in excitement.

This is truly a miracle shot! Uncle Joseph fed me for the first time. Nice form, Uncle Joseph!

Later Uncle Joseph brought me to try out the foot massager. I was a little surprised at first...

And then found it quite comfortable...

Ooh, the vibrations tickle my feet! Hee hee!

Two Saturdays ago I was able to visit Auntie May and Auntie Adria. By the time we started taking photos, it was past my naptime and I wasn't really in the mood for smiles.

After a bit of coaxing and tosses in the air, I was all smiles! It was fun hanging out at Auntie Adria's new flat. I thoroughly enjoyed banging on her new dining table as she watched me scream with delight over my lunch.

One more Kodak moment with Auntie May, and then I must go to sleep!

Poh-Poh and Gong-Gong love me soooooo much!

Hey guys, check out my top! Poh-Poh and Gong-Gong bought it for me.

Ok, one more and that's it!

Yes, I must say that I look divine in red.

I should be a baby model.

Whenever I get close enough, I always try to push my stroller myself.

Poh-Poh loves to make me laugh. Here she is sending me into a giggle fit!

Here I am standing for a whole 17 seconds--wow! (Now I can stand a really long time, but back then it was very impressive.)

I had a lunch with Grandmas' friends so I had to get all dolled up. Here I am having a giggle with Daddy.

I know I look great, but doesn't Daddy look dashing?

Uncle Brian wanted a hold too after that...

And then it was Yeh-Yeh's turn.

Here's me and Mommy at lunch. We always have so much fun together!

Finally a semi-decent group photo...except I'm a bit blurry...

This one is good, except Tyler isn't looking at the camera!

Better...but now Mommy is in it!

Hee hee, all this photo-taking is making me laugh!

Each time Tyler and Talia run around and play, I always want to join them. But I can't run since I can't even walk yet! Oh well, I guess it's just as fun watching...

Daddy, Tyler, and Talia had a contest on who could be silent and sit still the longest.

It looked so interesting that I wanted to join in too.

Group hug!

Here I am at family dinner the night before we went back home. I was able to eat so many little bites of different foods.

Of course, I still had to eat my own pre-prepared dinner which is delicious also.

Yummy! I love these red bean-filled buns. They're meant to look like peaches. Pretty, huh?

Eating noodles is interesting. They always break apart in my fingers, but I still find them yummy!

Home, at last! Check out all my stuff! I took up about 1.5 suitcases all on my own. I have definitely inherited the shopping gene from my parents.

I'm ONE!

Well I'm back in HK with my parents and once again reunited with my grandparents and extended family. It's good to be on vacation and have a change of scenery, but I unfortunately fell sick the day I got here and was diagnosed with a throat infection. Boo hoo! So for the first week here I did a bunch of crying and was extremely clingy to my parents.

Since my recovery, I'm been a busy little piggie--eating and shopping my way through HK, which explains the lack of posts. Here's a quick update of the last two weeks, with more to follow in the next post!

When you feel sick, all you want is a big hug from Mommy or Daddy.

There's a bunny in the living room!

Oh wait, it's just cute lil' me. : )

Big hugs with Daddy. Doesn't he look hot with his new haircut?

Family photo!

After seeing Daddy on his crackberry all the time, I've also learned how to pick up and talk on the phone.

Here I am having some "char siu bao" (bbq pork buns) at Sunday yumcha.

Mmm it's so yummy! I'm only allowed to eat a little bit and only the bread part, but to me it's delicious!

Here's me leaning away from my cousin Ryan as I'm afraid he's going to take away my biscuit.

Ok, I'll stop eating to say hello.

My adorable cousin Ryan! We're just about the same age, just a couple of weeks apart.

Ryan is more interested in the camera, I'm more interested in my food.

Me: Oh no, my biscuit is almost gone!
Ryan: How come the camera moved so far away from me?

Here's Ryan and me hugging (or actually being forced to hug) and Daddy debuting his directorial skills.

Wu-Chan family photo with the cutest babies in town!

This is my version of spirit fingers.

I'm happy because I've recovered from my throat infection!

More food, please!

Slurp slurp... that looks good!

Just as my bib says, I'm a sweet baby. : )

I get so excited every time it's mealtime.

Yeh-Yeh loves me and is always taking photos of me. I thought it'd be nice for him to be in a photo himself for once!

Last week I had dinner at Poh-Poh and Gong-Gong's house. It was a lot of fun!

During my dinner, Poh-Poh tested me on my Chinese and check out how good I am! I can clap, "cing cing", and motion "no more" on command.

Here is Gong-Gong preparing some yummy banana for me.

This is one of the few occassions that I was actually a patient princess waiting for my dessert.

Yummy! Bananas are crazy delicious!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!! It's now the year of the Rat!

I woke up on Thursday to a beautiful view--Yeh-Yeh presenting me with a lovely red packet. My parents tell me that the best part is what is inside. Does that mean there's food in here?

Hmm.. it has an interesting texture and has a nice sound when crinkled. I think I'll keep it!

In the early afternoon, we had to go around to all of our relatives' houses to "bai nian", but I was at home napping the whole time. When everyone got to our place, I woke up and changed into my special Chinese New Year (CNY) outfit that Poh-Poh bought me.

This was the only decent photo that Mommy was able to take with all the little cousins together. That's Talia and Tyler in the back. Daddy tried to take my thumb out of my mouth but I refused.

Auntie Karen and Ryan. Isn't he so adorable?

Here I am leaning against Daddy and holding Uncle Raymond's hand. I'm not used to waking up and suddenly being surrounded by 20 people talking loudly and walking all around me.

I look like a little Chinese doll in this photo!

Here I am slowly beginning to come out of my shell...

Look at what a cutie pie Ryan is!

Me and Ryan.

Just little ol' me.

This is me being shy again and reaching for Daddy. I've been especially attached to him recently.

Here I am pretending I can fly (or just trying to squirm out of Uncle Joseph's arms).

If you haven't already noticed, people like to wear red around CNY. Here we all are with Mah-Mah and Yeh-Yeh.

And another photo with Gong-Gong, Poh-Poh, and Uncle Joseph.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NAOMI, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I'm one! Wow, it's been a great year and I just know that there's a lot more to come. Yippee, bring on the new year! My birthday fell on the second day of Chinese New Year and in honor of me (as usual), we had a birthday party at the Jockey Club. I'm so special! Here are a bunch of photos from my spectacular fiesta!

Wu family photo. There are two of them because in this one, my eyes are closed.

But in this one, Yeh-Yeh's eyes are closed. To be fair (and so that we both have a nice photo), I posted them both.

Another with my other grandparents!

Posing with Grandaunt and Granduncle (and another red packet)!

Can't forget one with Yi-Ma (my Mah-Mah's sister)!

Poh-Poh wanted her own photo so here we are together. She was the one that bought my birthday outfit--from Korea!

Then I took a pic with Uncle Victor and Auntie Deborah...

and then they wanted one alone with me. Gosh I felt so loved!

And finally one with Daddy and Mommy! It's about time!

This was my birthday party banquet menu.

Big hugs from Poh-Poh and Gong-Gong!

Peace from Yi-Ma!

Smiles from Auntie Deb!

My pretty pout.

Just waiting for the food...

A photo with another Granduncle and Grandaunt. Err, why are you holding me like this?

Ok, I'm starting to feel a bit uncomfortable...

Playing with Talia. Yay!

I love my new shoes!

Talia: Hey Naomi, look this way.
Me: Ok, just a moment.

Talia: Can we play now?
Naomi: Wait, I'm posing.

Talia: Are you ready yet?
Naomi: Almost...

Talia: I'm getting tired...
Naomi: Ok, last one...

We're 1.5 years apart, but we have lots of things in common--big eyes, cut noses, and sexy lips!

Sleepy Ryan. I'm surprised he stayed asleep with all the noise in the room!

Random shot 1...

Random shot 2...

My cake! Ain't it beautiful? As it if wasn't amazing enough to look at, the taste was an explosion of deliciousness in my mouth! (I was able to eat a small fingernail-sized piece of the cake.)

Let's dig in!

Ooh, the strawberries look good.

Oh no, not another photo!

Enough already, I want to eat!

Mommy let me have a strawberry first before anyone touched the cake.

MMM YUMMY!!!

Time to cut the cake... Tyler wants some too--where did he come from?

Now THIS is what I call a party! As the famous Marie Antoinette once said, "Let them eat cake!"

What a party. Now I'm pooped. Time for a nap...

After my party I took a long nap and woke up feeling refreshed and ready to party all over again.

"If You're Happy and You Know It" is my favourite song in the world! Each time I hear it I can't help clapping and dancing along to the music. Here's a video of Mommy singing it and Mah-Mah humming along. You can't really hear Mommy though because Mah-Mah's volume is overpowering!
